More Ways to Analyze Mega Millions

Beyond the basics above, the full toolkit includes deeper statistics — chi-square randomness test, sequential randomness tests, number collision analysis, position distribution, repeat/adjacent/isolated numbers, number spacing & clustering, AC value calculator, sum distribution histogram, the calendar heatmap, the frequency race animation, and this day in Mega Millions history. Prefer a real dollars-and-cents view? Try the expected return rate calculator, the losing streak calculator, or the tax calculator. Just want to pick numbers with a bit more ceremony than a plain button? Try the wheel picker, the slot reel picker, the roulette ball picker, a scratch card, or a confetti reveal. Every ticket includes a built-in multiplier (2X-10X), randomly assigned at no extra cost — there's no way to opt out or pay for a better one. The table below shows the base prize for each tier; your actual non-jackpot prize is the base amount multiplied by whatever multiplier your ticket was assigned. The jackpot itself is never multiplied.

Mega Millions FAQ

What time is the Mega Millions drawing?

Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 PM Eastern Time.

How much does a Mega Millions ticket cost?

A standard Mega Millions ticket costs $5. Since April 2025, every ticket automatically includes a built-in prize multiplier at no extra cost — there's no separate Megaplier add-on to opt into anymore.

What are the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot?

The odds of matching all five main numbers plus the Mega Ball are 1 in 290,472,336.

How does the Mega Millions multiplier work?

Every $5 ticket is automatically assigned a random multiplier — 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X — printed on the ticket. If you win any prize other than the jackpot, that prize is multiplied by your ticket's assigned multiplier. The multiplier doesn't apply to the jackpot itself, and there's no way to opt out of it or pay extra for a better one — it's randomly assigned to every play.
